Hood being raised is not for looks at all. It's a old school v8 trick for venting heat. Works similar to a hood cowl, where the heat is able to escape through the raised area. In Chicago, the summer heat and traffic are brutal.

To answer MiracleWhip's question, Car has made 460whp and 309ft lbs of torque on 93 octane. Car has gone 11.73-11.99 several times @ 124-128 mph with a 1.9-2.1 60' on slicks. Full interior, spare tire etc... Really had trouble getting the car to hook
