With a dsm or evo its really a simple mod process that most people follow.

The first thing is the intake and air filter.
second is the exhaust. you can get a turbo back exhaust but if you have emissions you have to play the switch ur exhaust game. if thats not for you just get a 3" exhaust from the cat back. i also agree with the above brands. i like apexi or greddy exhausts.
Me personally i only use AEM electronics in my car when i can i trust them the most but others will work.
DO NOT get the sunpro gauges from ur local autozone they just suck!

you don't need a exhaust manifold until you get a different turbo or your going for show, if you wanted you could take it off and have it ported as well as the 02 housing but it won't yeld much power gain.

don't waste your time on a turbo timer but make sure you wait about a minute before you shut off ur car its best for the turbo to give it a minute to cool down and let all the fluids drain out if you were getting on it. other wise letting all the hot oil in the turbo sit in it could/will fry it and those turbos aren't cheap even stock.

if your still looking for a bit more power the next step has to be a boost controller and i suggest a manual one. electronic boost controllers are super expensive and not needed in anyway. but you have to get a boost gauge installed before the boost controller other wise how the hell do you know what psi ur at?

always use 93 octane!

Do some research and find out what ur limit is on ur psi for your setup because if you go too high you'll lean out ur mixture, or stretch ur head studs and pop ur head gasket, and very bad things will happen! trust me! its very important

after this point everything else is determined by what you want out of the car. do you want a certain 1/4 time? horsepower goal? looks? those questions will help you determine on exactly what else you mod, what kind and what level of modding you do.

along the lines of hard piping all the intercooler piping, blow off valve, turbo, exhaust manifold, tuning device, fuel mods, tires, etc...

In my opinion if your going for just a little boost in power and sound go with the above first mods. but/and if you think ur going to or want more power sit down and pick a goal and setup everything you do to reach that goal so you don't buy for an example: one set of injectors this month. just do turn up the boost and by bigger injectors later. on the flip side if you don't add more power it'd be a waste to by injectors.

evolutionm. net is a great website to get info/advice from tons of evo owners.

In ur profile it doesn't say where you live but if you live close enough to the northwest burbs of Chicago (just map google it and decided) i HIGHLY recommend a shop called Strictly Modified thats were me and everyone i know take our cars and they do amazing work. they work on all cars but they do dsms and evos the most all tho they can do just about anything to any car!

strictlymodified. net/

don't let the website fool you they just don't work on the site much lol.

also keep in mind that everything has a limit either on how must psi or how much horsepower it can handle so make sure you do the proper mods in the right order. for example you keep turning up the power at some point the stock clutch won't cut it and you'll start making the clutch slip and have to keep replacing it. i think you get the idea.

good luck any other questions feel free to ask me I'll help the best i can.
