2500 for salvaged title, suspect rebuild, missing parts, needs paint...

Your call

I LOVE hondas and I wouldnt take that deal...I feel for the guy but I would part that thing out -- shell for 500-800, motor for 400-500, tranny for 800...but the work of taking it apart, finding buyers ...thats on him

But if you want to put the work in and fix it...I dont think you have the knowledge so it will cost you...better off finding a "clean" runner than a fixer upper I guess is what I am trying to say in your specific case.

Good luck
He is selling me the car in a very good running condition NOTHING missing only thing it will need is the bumber paint job, he or the previous owner never had problems with it before(other than that stupid kid wrecking it),

of course i am going to test drive it for a couple days first, but i know this guy and the car, so i know it is well taken care of.

As far as experience goes, iv built two 11 sec cars IN MY GARAGE, the first was a 01 camaro ss, and my current car a 03 mustang gt. Did everything including forged internals, supercharger, everything electrical(guages, tuning, etc etc), cams, heads, full exhaust, everything suspension, well you get the point(taliking about my gt btw) its been 50k miles since everything was done, car has 115K miles in, the car doesnt smoke AT ALL, revs and idles better than ever, and its my DD, 480 rwhp on a VERY safe tune @ 6psi, so believe me doing the work is no problem for me

I did do alot of research on both cars on what they can and cant handle, what works and what doesnt before i even started modding them tho i think research is the most important part of any build

So after looking at some topics on forums and such on the tranny, i was wondering what kind of transmission a 99 si tranny is, i see that a lot of people use letter(B16 etc etc) to descibe engines and trannys, im new to the import world(literally) so i have no idea what all this means.

I was wondering if the si tranny is a good tranny for a DD(i might go turbo) i understand that a LS tranny has longer gears, so can i just put a LS 5th gear in the si tranny for when im on the highway? and since the si tranny is very short, how will that do with a turbo(low boost)? Im willing to swap it out for a compatible tranny like one from a type R to make it work with boost if the SI tranny wont work

Earlier in the thread they told me the LS engine wont be able to rev past 8K+, now like i said im new to the imports so bare with me, is that a bad thing or a good thing lol?(iv only had muscle cars which if your around 6500-7K that really high lol)

I have decided i am going to get this integra thats why im asking all these quiestions lol(btw i got the price down to 1000

Ooooo ok got it, so the motor on this LS is a B18(b i think) right?

If this is correct iv been doing some research and found that a LS motor is a pretty good motor to boost, unless i do forged internals(for higher boost), i can reliably run low boost on it as a daily driver. Ill keep doing research as to what else ill need to safely turbo it(fuel requirements, tuning etc etc)

1900 might be alright, the si tranny is actually more valueable thats a B16 SiR transmition ment for racing you might like it. the ls tranny is compatable you can use the 5th.

the b16 trans is also alright for your boost goal it seems the long gears is for the big 300+hp setups. and the pics look great I just seen them wow !

if your boost not hitting 8000rpm is no problem....my b16 is na and i crave hitting 8000+ past people trying to pass me but the LS rods a pretty long and can bend or break at that rpm so under 7600 is fine. try it out, redline second gear and see if third is sticky or grindy or wont go in at all because thats usually the gear that gets screwed up

i do notice the tan interior tho, i do hate the tan since the black is ultra....ultra clean

I got the price down to 1000 im pretty excited about it

When hes done doing the repairs ima test it out for a couple days before i give any money just to make sure that it works. But im positive it will iv known the guy for a while now and i know he takes god care of this car in particular.

Yeah that tan interior blows, but i used to do upholstery in cars since i was like 12(uncle had a shop that did only interiors of cars) up until last year, we use to do cars like vetts and lexus stuff like that that people wanted to look custom, so ill have a black interior in no time with like 100 bucks

I have a feeling this is going to be a fun little project car!

with out even looking id still get the turbokit, hook everything up, and if the turbo is shit use a known brand turbo.

and ive seen good results from just painting the interior black. start a build thread when you get it. id love to watch it come together
