It is a defect in the transmission. . It is replaced for free. .
I got mine replaced about 40K miles back. . It is so much better now. .

It shouldn't matter but the dealer does not have to do it if your car is out of warrenty because it is not a recall.

about time! i've had mine to the dealer at least twice for this issue and they kept saying they couldn't find anything wrong. i'm due for my 60k service, so i'll be going in soon.

Make sure that the part isn't on back order still. I called about the tsb for my fiance's si and the replacement part was on back order until the end of June. So just make sure that the part is not still on backorder.

when i went to the dealer to get the problem fixed they gave me an excuse saying they wouldnt fix it if my clutch was burnt or whatnot, has anyone ever got this response from their dealerships?

i got a 06 type s just got it a mouth ago it has 100 000 on it ma 3rd is acting up an its off warranty will acura fix it for free?an i live in canada if that helps...thanx

well i dunno about canada, but the guy at my dealership told me (and I know the guy, my brother used to work there, so I don't think it is BS) that if they tear down the tranny and can't find anything visibly wrong, and they can't make it happen when they test drive it, you will be charged for the labor of taking the tranny apart and putting it back together, and they will not replace the synchro.

so the type s rsx in canada dont have the 3rd gear prob?my 3rd never pops out just sometimes lil rough to get in ant ideas?
