The List

I've been meaning to put this list together for some time and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. Everyone here should already know how vocal I am when things don't go right with a vendor or manufacturer, but I don't think I'm vocal enough when things do go well. Here is a list of outstanding people / vendors / contacts / manufacturers who I will put my faith and trust in again. Please don't this is a list of parts I'm bragging about having - I think businesses that provide great service and parts should be reverred and rewarded with continuous business. If only everyone else was as honest and dependable as the following people:
  • Arias - Carmen knows how to make any situation right, even if it's totally screwed up before it gets to her.
  • ARP - I know Debbie is no longer with the company, but because she made such a huge impact on me with stellar service and technical information I will continue to give them as much of my business as I can. She saved my sanity.
  • BDL - Scott is a long time player in the industry but he doesn't use that as an excuse to give poor service. He continues to excel and even offers a trade in value for anyone "upgrading" to BDL components.
  • Endyn - Although I have not talked to Larry at length, I am more than impressed with his upfront attitude about opening up and dispensing "secrets" about Hondas and Honda engines. Everything he sells he endorses with an extensive engineering and racing background. I always like respected Seals of Approval.
  • Fastbrakes - Brian spent the better part of an hour carefully discussing brake theory with me when I asked about custom kits he did not offer (S2000 applications). Because of his extensive knowledge and dedication to making customers more knowledgeable I send as many referrals to him as I can. It helps that his kits are not available elsewhere but it shows that he put a lot of time and knowledge into his business.
  • hmotorsonline - Steve has always delivered what's promsed on time and of the best quality. The one time I had an issue (with my personal engine) he shipped my out a new crank pulley to replace the chipped one immediately. It doesn't hurt that he also has the best prices online.
  • Precision Turbo - John and the guys will take as much time out as is necessary to make sure you not only get the best turbo for your needs, but also the best service. They spent more time than they should have answering every single question I had. They didn't get irritated at all and wanted me to fully understand everything.
  • Vortech Superchargers - Chris was more than happy to help me piece together a custom kit by providing me with more data than available anywhere else. After we talked extensively about their heat exchanges and intercoolers he surprised me by telling me to buy it from someone else. He was honest enough to tell me to give the part numbers to another retailer and they would save me money. That's service!

I have, of course, had some dealings that were substantially below par. I feel these companies can stand to learn a lot about business and how to treat people honestly and fairly. I would recommend NOT shopping with these companies and/or manufacturers. I don't want to see anyone else potentially lose time or money by dealing with them.
  • Bulletproof Automotive
  • Seibon

Please understand that this is my personal list and does not reflect the ideas or business practices of JDMUniverse, it's owner, or staff. These are people that have made such a big imapct on me, I remember many of them and our conversations years after the fact. I will update this as I have more experiences or interaction as either positiv or negative highlights. I am truthfully trying to reward those who continually do an oustanding job. Please support them if possible!

I'll update this thoroughly but, for now.

I have done business with....

AMSOIL
JHPUSA
RESPONSE

All 3 with 100% satisfaction!

VIS gave me heartache and took 2 years off my life.

hmotorsonline gets a so-so from me. They used THE WORST freight company ever that lied and cost me alot of money of staying home 2 separate days without showing up when they said they would. Then Steve said he would refund part of the shipping and never did. The front end was dented to shit but, IMO that is pretty much to be expected. Headlights were pretty much garbage though.

Great idea for a thread.

Miguel, thanks for the mention.

On a similar vane, my racing team has gotten a lot of support over the years and I created a page to publicly thank them. JDMU is on the page.

ive worked with JHPUSA and InlineFour that have given me a superior shopping experience

i do have complaints from nrgmotortrend.com though... upon recieving a product (VIS bumper) it was severely off. 2" minimum at the fener and needed major reconstruction to get it to fit right. i complained, and they only would replace it or refund me if i paid shipping for a bumper back to california. mind you, the bumper was $250 and shipping was a heafty $170. there was no way i would do it, so i have a bumper sitting in my garage that i need to do something with...

dont buy fron VIS or NRGmotortrend.com

That's awesome, all those links to 'vette forum's and Chevy's, then you link to an import site

ICBMotorsports also get a thumbsup from me. I can't remember who helped me, but I ordered something and was waiting and waiting, never got it. Then THEY called me to tell me they didn't have the part at the time but was getting a shipment that day. Within three days, I had my parts, including the one they didn't have I also ordered my Skunk2 shifter and no shit, I recieved it the next day without even asking for next day delivery. They do a great job and I'll continue to order from them

Car guys is car guys in my book no matter what they drive and JDMU definitely deserves the recognition. I don't play as much on this forum as I do the Vette forums though... mostly because I don't understand half of way you guys are talking about.

Another nod to ICB. I usually forget about them..hell I'd give them a nod even if I didn't order through them..they get some stuff i've never even seen before, lol. But i've ordered through them many times and i've been very satisfied every single time. ICB
