you lost me there. why is it not worth buying all the necessary parts youll buy later on anyway, right away? thats why the FMAX, DRAG and other kits put down more power. the greddy kit is weaker, since it CARB approved.

also, a custom set up will own your wallet. why? the turbo itself alone will run you between $6-800 for a t3. that includes custom internals. then you add up all the other parts:
manifold: $4-500
intercooler: $8-1000
downpipe: $250-300
blow - off: $250+
piping: $3-500
fitting etc.: $50-100
boost controller: $250+
injectors: $300+
fuel pump: $150-200
exhaust piping: $100+

and the list goes on...

thats not even including an engine build-up to handle that power. once you get past 8 psi's, you better have a build bottom.

well.....i just dont care of F-max...they have had really bad rep....the only reason i say this is because i know of about 7 ppl that bought them for the SC300 setup and when something broke...they did not ever return their call or nothing.

dont get me wrong..when they were buying them..F-MAX treated them like the best in the world...until they had a problem!

go with what you can afford. even if this means building your kit, piece by piece.

Snail Power

:n2:Greddy is a bad choice. There is a guy with a 00 GSR I believe. He has yet to hit mid 14s with it. Plus he is detonating already. I have seen a lot of guys run FMAX and they all love them. There is a kid with an FMAX Lude and he is hitting 12s. Greddy is too much cash for too little ummph. Get an FMAX, or go nuts and get a shot and a big snail.

Oops.

I meant like a 14 or 14.2. He is running about the same as your friend. If I spent the money on a turbo I had better hit 13.9 or so. Greddy just doesnt have the boost potential.

well...he needs to go to a tuner and have them work on that car....i know that you can pull more than a 14.2 out of a turbo'd GSR.....

Very true.

Yeah, he does need some help. I wish it was faster. He is a semi friend of mine. But I always liked a turbo with great boost potential. I think his is limited to 9 or 7. Something like that. Oh well, I guess after my other friends old GSR, I get disappointed with other ones. He ran a 110 or so shot with crazy weight reduction and hit a 12.9 once, but ran consistent 13.3 .4 or so. And without the shot he was running 14.8 .7. So I always hate turbo cars that dont get really low. Not hate, just disappointed.

yeah...thats cool....greddy is really not for power...they are more aimed at the emissions and legal part of it....

I like it here.

This is great. We can talk and discuss stuff and I dont get some kid going. "What, foo you get smacked with the quickness." Or my favorite. "Whateva, come and get some bitch." Everyone is nice and helpful. I think Im going to cry Im all warm and fuzzy inside now. Ok, back to the topic. Ill mention it to him. He is an installer at the local Wiz, and does custom work so he has $. We shall see. Ahhh, nice.
