SO we did it:

cut an opening in the pillar bar to expose the locking latch, and, well--went to town at the plastic surronding the metal part of the latch with a hammer and chisle.

after about 15mins of going at it it came open:

Old and broken latch:

installed another used latch off my old busted door so while I was at it i even switched out the handle so I can now use my key to unlock the driver door :p looks like crap tho :/

Looks nasty but wrks:

This is what was cut and bent back--we will have to cut it out so the panel can sit correctly:

SO with that done we moved onto the rear panels--what i can say now is thank god i have spares lol

Cut WAY too much off the passenger one:

on the driver side we cut way less but still it was not as clean as I would have liked it therefore we will do better on the next set.

And yes my door jamb is green :/ we never got around to getting that painted

Anyhow, kreanned it up a bit--got the spares and made some clean cuts right where it begins to curve on the top half and did the same at the bottom half--therefore; we left the middle where the leather insert goes untouched:

Overall--fitment was still tight but everything is pretty snug...good thing I dont have to sit back there :salook:

Driver side:

Pass Side:

Also pulled the "hack" on the driver door pillar back and straigtened it out a bit--had my body shop/painter guy check it out and he said we can get it all patched up and get my door jamb painted for a few hundo; i'll get around to it eventually. That's it for now--still need to whoop out the Pinnacle Concours Interior Kit and clean the crap out of the interior :o

More updates coming soon

Update:

Not too much to report--didn't hear back from the painter yet so it'll be a few more days :/ no biggie.

Finally got some speakers for the doors :o running stock HU (non fried) and no amp so it's not much of an improvement but way better then nothing (which I didnt have any before :p )

JBL 6.5 Component Speakers:

Install was pretty straight forward--a few cuts on the plastic to clear the magnet and I kept the tweeter behind the door panel; I didnt want to make holes or have it sitting on the dash.

Also last week my alighment felt funny so I took it in--tie rod bolts were loose however the rest of the suspension settled in a little more and threw the specs off been 15 days ince te last one and they still charged me for it! I will go back and speak with a manager. I was super busy and didn't have time to dispute it right then and there.

Caster is at 1.5°, Camber up front is -3.0°, rear camber -1.1° and toe is 0 all around. My wheel is a lilttle off to the left tho :/ not sure why.

I hope the Cali fam has a good alignment guy

Also decided to wash the car at 2AM to get it ready for a 3 hour drive up to NW-Built/StanceWars Car Meet to meet up with one of Coop'c buddies to snag some coils for her TSeX. There was WAY too many ppl/cars there shit was hectic. but solid trip overall.

Till next time

Laying down the rubber I see haha. see your money on the ground and smell it in the air haha.
before when you had passengers. would you have to yell to them because the music was only in the rear? on my Acura if the Maurice is up they can't hear me cuz I have not frot speakers either.

You really don't need rear speakers. It's just for your passengers. I would use the money to amp the fronts. It will really come alive!!!

LOL i hear ya! Kinda letting the front break in a little but they are starting to sound great! and that's cuz i got my phone playing music thru the cassette adapter!!!!!!! LOL

I have a pioneer 4 channel 350W amp but I want to retian my stock HU for now. I know theres ways to still run the RCA wires from the OEM HU (my buddy did it to our 04 F150a while back) but I don't want to run the extra wires ATM :/
