Talking My CRX Build Thread!!! 56K Take a Hike!!!

Well just got these today a few hours ago, had to go home during lunch so I could grab my Digi cam to show you guys......as you can see they are Stanleys, the only thing though is I'm not sure about those brackets, I really doubt they are for the EF.....Anyway I know the switch is for an Accord so I'm thinking these might have came off an Accord or something, the guy I bought them from said they were for an EF but some guy wanted to put them on a accord....so I dont know, anyway I will try to get them installed ASAP....I'll take pictures of the install and stuff...and any mods I have to do.

Another Question...

Hey I had a question....because I was looking at the Fog Light Harness kits they sell at Autozone and shit, and they have a Power and ground wire....

Now that is not a biggie I can wire up the lights since they still have the OG plugs

But what about this puppy I noticed that it has 4 wires coming out of it, now this is were I get lost??? So if any of you can help me that would be great, I know that the Black one is obviosly the ground but what about the other 4 wires..

They are
Red/Yellow - Red/Black (those are pinned next to eachother)
Red - Red/Black (those are pinned next to eachother)

yeah that's def for an accord... mine to be exact... those are supposed to go on a CD7 or CD5...

as for the extra wires i don't know what goes where but i can tell you why...

the stock foglights turn on at the push of a button... the one you have... but turn off when the brights are on... the reason being there is some USDM law stating that there can only be two sets of light on during running... well on the CD7 & CD5 when you turn on the brights they are a seperate set of lights on... meaning if the brights where to stay on there would be three total...

so that is why there are four wires coming out the back of that switch...

hope that helps... cause if you don't intend to wire it up like that then there is no need to use them... just find out which ones are the simple on and off and use those and tape off the extra

Fog Lights are on <---Check it!!!!!

Well I got the Fog Lights on, and you guys are going to trip out on the little discovery that I made while I was going through the process of getting these badboys installed.

I'll breakdown everything that I did. So as many of you know I was a little bummed because I knew the Brackets that came with the Fog Lights were intended to be used with the Accord and not for the EF. So anyway I figured I would go to my friends garage and try to modify the brackets to fit my car and this is were some discoveries were made!

So first thing is first, you have to take your front end off. You want to start by removing your corner lights, and then proceed to removing your bumper. The bumper itself is bolted on with 5 screws on top and 2 screws on the sides in front of the tires. Once you have these removed you can gently remove your bumper from the bumper support! If done correctly you should end up with something like this!!

I went ahead and left the bumper support on figuring that I would somehow modify it...So from here I went ahead and continued on to the bumper itself as you can see I cut the hole out for the fogs, but if you look closely at your bumper (and I should have taken a picture before cutting) you can actually see the outline of were you are suppose to cut! So I went ahead and cut both holes using a dremel wich makes life so much easier.

I've outlined were you are suppose to cut in this picture!

So once I had the hole's cut we went ahead and put the bumper back on to test fit lights (with the Brackets off) now keep in mind I had yet to take off the Bumper support off…so after looking at things I noticed that I would be able to drill a hole on top the bumper support and use the that as the bracket. So I went ahead and removed the 4 bolts that hold the support in place

And that is when I noticed something intresting…I sat in front of the car and a grabbed a bracket that was suppose to be for the Accord and I noticed something were the holes were linning up. But real quickly let me show you the differences in the brackets! These are the ones I got…

The JDM and USDM Bracket side by Side (I got this pict off another site)

And then I noticed some intresting on the car were the support was...these 2 holes caught my eye on the car!!

I noticed that the Accord brackets were the same length as the two holes on the car so we bolted the Accord Bracket on, and WALA!! This is what you end up with. A perfect fitting bracket

So we went ahead and bolted up the brackets put the bumper back on (left the support off) and bolted the lights on and this is what you get…

So after we got all the hardware installed, we moved on to wiring up the FogLights. Lucky for me they still had the pigtails plugged in so there would be no splicing here!!

My Buddy ran to AutoZone and bought a Auxilary light wire harness (without realy)...

Once we had the plugs terminated and everything we went ahead and wired everything up really quick to make sure the lights were working!

Once everything was working we went ahead and bolted everything back on and wired it all up…
I also figured out the switch and only used the On/Off feature, but I will be getting the original switch sometime this weekend…so here are the final picts of the setup.

Sorry about the picts but the nightmode is my camera is really not that great And here are a few after I installed the SI lip. One thing really quick that I didn't mention was that we left the Bumper support off or else it would have never fit! But Overall they look really good!

If you have any questions, just let me know! Email me of PM me and I will gladly hep you out!!
