sorry i didn't get back, i was in vegas- it was awesome. anyway yeah that's the valve i fixed. i didn't know it will go bad so soon i might save a little and go ahead and buy one from honda, but i have to see if it has a part number on it or not, or if another one from another motor will work b/c i had a little trouble trying to order other parts, i'll see how that goes.
what about some threak locker?? i wonder if that will work next time it happens at least i'll know what to do and i'll try some threak locker.

For me it usually works for a long time. I have no idea on the thread lock, but you have to make sure its compatible with the plastic valve. It would seem that it would work, but I would use it sparingly. You don't want it stopping up the valve. Maybe even a small dab of heat proof grease, or rector seal (plumbers pipe dope) would work as an alternative.

A mechanic once told me that Honda uses a wax on it. I have no idea if that is true or not. It doesn't make sense to me given the temperatures the throttle body reaches.

high and surging idle 1990 honda crx si

I have a 90 CRX SI with a d16a8 or a9 whichever is dohc...just bought the car. i had surging idle from 2000-3000 rpms so i replaced the MAP sensor and the IACV. I fixed the surging idle until it completely warms up then it starts again. so i figured it could be the thermostat, im replacing that tonight. does anyone have any sugestions in case that doesnt fix the problem? It doesn't have a FITV so i cant fix that lol. The only thing i have not replaced is the TPS. please let me know Thanks a lot
