This car is probably the opposite of that. But maybe that's what the guys at Import Tuner were going for.
Colin's article is very well written and represents the car perfectly. I couldn't have asked for more. But rather than list every single thing I'd done to the car to make me, or the car, appear better I left a lot of things off the mod list and out of the story. Too many times have I read about the super-mundane details of the build only to be lost in the story behind the car. I really think that's what sold this feature - the story behind the car.
I, for one, always study the pictures. I try to pick up on stuff not mentioned in the feature just so I can see what makes the car "tick." When you can point out those things to friends and fellow enthusiasts you see a deeper appreciation grow for the car. Hopefully this one has stuff like that, too. There's more done to the car than what's listed in the spec. sheet; I just didn't want to overload on those things when it's such a simple car visually.
For those that want to go back and take another look, I hope you find some of the hidden nuances of the car. Even if you can't or don't care to, thanks for enjoying it as it sits. I never thought I'd be proud of this thing (hence no build thread) but I'm becoming more so!

Sick hatch, truly represents the "heart" that motivates the real Honda enthusiasts.
Whenever I have spoken to real OG Honda people its the same thing "I never sent them pics but somehow they asked if they could run the car in the mag"
The car speaks for itself and I am really glad they ran it. I look at my old EK hatch and the EG they ran and see alot of what made me build my car. Purpose, function and love for the car.
Its not a 50K over the top nut swinging "oh I wish I could build this after the lottery" kind of car but with enough time and attention to detail they could rebuild somethign similar and have a clean, purposeful car that ANY automotive enthusiast could appreciate...Euro/Domestic etc...
I dont normally like converted cars but I really like that EG and the execution...dedication/heart and it shows
