I beleive the R trannys are a bit stronger, but the gearing is soooo close they're retarded. The Type R trannys are limited to 138mph because of gearing.

From what I've read.. the Type S is limited to 168mph or something like that.
The R's gears are almost stupid.

How are you getting it repaired? Did you buy new parts from Honda??
The only company I know of that makes gear sets for the K is Quaife. I just spoke with the tech and he said that its not for street use. It's mainly for drag racing and circuit racing. Their kit retails for $6250 so it's out of the budget of any amature race team I guess. From what he said it's pretty badass, it replaced everything inside the case, really the only OEM peice you keep is the gear selector.

Im doing a k20a2 swap in my EG and i was wondering if its possible to reach 200hp to the wheels with just bolt-ons and no tunning. Ill be running intake, header, exhaust, spoon 70mm throttle body, PRC ITR intake manifold w/ bored inlet to match 70mm throttle body, and hondata intake maifold gasket. Will this setup be able to put down 200hp to the wheels with no ecu tunning???

Most guys with healthy k20a2's and quality bolt ons are able to get pretty damn close to 200whp untuned... ive seen a few hit 200....
allthough u probaly can do a better setup than the itr mani and 70mm tb in my opinion...

why is it that you dont want to tune??? the tunning capabilities of the k series motors is what makes them so fabulous...

There have been some that have hit the 200whp without tuning, but realistically it's not going to happen everyday. For an A2 to hit 200whp with bolt ons, it would have to be something special.
I'd be willing bet you'd get maybe 175 - 180whp without a KPRO. But at that point it would be stupid because you need the KPRO to reach the mods full potential. So, with a KPRO and every bolt on possible, I'd say it would still be hard to get 200whp, but it would come close.

Well I dont know about 175-180.... I used to have a B18C Type-R and i put down 176 w/ intake, header, stock CAT, and stock piping. (no tunning).
I think a K20A2 w/ intake, header, exhaust, PRC intake manifold, Hondata intake manifold gasket, and Spoon 70mm throttle body can do more than 180 with no tunning. |

PRC or RBC? If that is not a typo then I will ask why use the Type R intake manifold, when the RBC/RRB intake manifold flows much better. I will say that manifold would probably net 180whp+.
I honestly dont think you'll need a 70mm throttle body, but if you want it thats fine. Ok, well you say without tuning. What ECU are you going to use if you dont want to tune? You cant really use a stock map with a KPRO, there is always a different variation. So, do the test in an RSX... using a stock PRB ECU but with only these mods.. Intake Header Type R intake manifold Hondata IMG 70mm throttle body If you made more than 180whp it wouldnt be by much. It also depends on what parts you actually buy, the name game is just as important with a K than with anything else. A $1100 header will make much more power than a $500 header...
