Del Sol parts

Wussup. Im buying a del sol soon and was wondering how hard it would be to find general parts for it if it were to break down and also custom mods.

Also i wantd to know if a 95' Del Sol would be reliable and if not what i could do to make it reliable?

Thanks for the Help

I have a '93 del Sol Si -- it is my daily driver, has 146k, very reliable, gets 37+ mpg, done a few things to it and had no problem finding parts (CAI, suspension). A lot of the original OEM parts can still be had brand new from Honda too... as for general engine parts, my local Advance Auto has not let me down yet, though I haven't needed a lot of parts for my sol. So I definitely would not say that getting parts for a sol is difficult. I don't know much about parts availability for "custom mods" because mine is mostly stock. I'm not into body kits and stuff if that's what you're after. I'm sure you can find some though, I've seen a few driving around with kits.

I had the following typical maintenance type things that I had to replace: clutch and dizzy. I also replaced the main relay because I thought it was causing a problem I had where the car wouldn't start if it was very hot out (the main relay is known to be a common cause of this problem) we think it was a contributing factor, but the dizzy - probably the coil - had also gone bad. There is also a known issue with the car leaking water. Some people have problems with it leaking into the trunk, others have issues (like me) where the door doesn't make a good seal and water leaks onto the seat. For me it is only on the driver's side. Very soon, I am going to get the silicone grease Honda recommends to see if that helps or fixes the problem.

If the car was properly cared for by it's previous owner(s), you shouldn't have too many problems to deal with. If the previous owner messed with a lot of stuff, I'd be wary... In general it's a great little car, fun to drive, I love mine! Good luck with yours if you end up getting one!

i have 2 del slo's and there great. one is completly stock and has very little matinance needed at 150K. the other one is built. finding aftermarket parts aren't hard. there are a lot of places to get them, and most are simple to install. if you have any ideas on what you would like to do to your sol them i might be able to help you a little more. finding orginal goods for the car can be hard to find in a good condition unless you go to honda. i'm from tampa and if places have them, they are expensive or in ok condition. so all i can say is be carefull on what you have to replace on it.
