The reason that I want power steering is because I purchased a gsr tranny with a quaife lsd and I didn't realize how incredibly stiff that lsd makes steering during low speed turns. Parallel parking is almost impossible now. I actually really regret getting that tranny.

I have no issues with my Quaife and a non-PS hatch.

But, if you don't already have a PS-equipped hatch it's too much work IMO.

PS rack (as complete as possible)
PS pump
PS hard lines with brackets
PS pressure switch, connector, and wiring
PS pump brackets (depends on your engine configuration)
PS resevoir
PS hoses (bulk would be fine but fitted are preferred)

Remove the front lower control arms from the steering rack. Disconnect the tie rods and disconnect the sway bar (if applicable) from the steering rack. Drop the steering rack. Run the hard lines down the driver's side from the rack area. Wire up the PS pressure switch. Install the PS resevoir bracket and resevoir. Run the hose to the hard line. Install the PS pump brackets and pump to the engine. Run the feed hose from the resevoir to the pump. Install the PS pressure hose from the pump to the metal hard line. Swap the mount from the non-PS rack to the new PS rack, reinstall the PS rack and connect the metal hard lines. Fill with fluid and check fo leaks. Drive the car to an alignment shop immediately.

It's nothing more than a series of 17mm, 14mm, 12mm, and 10mm bolts provided you get the rack in its entirety with good tie rod ends already installed. A lift and a transmission jack would be invaluable for this job.

Hey phunhaus, does this sound normal. Ever since I put in the new tranny equipped with the Quaife lsd when I cut my wheel all the way left or right to make hard low speed turns my car jerks when making the turn. Also when I'm trying to parallel park my steering is so freaking heavy that it makes it almost impossible to park.

One last thing Phunhaus. My front tires seem to be wearing awefully fast ever since I put that Quaife in. Do you notice anything like that with your car?

go to a local junkyard and get the complete cross member. make sure you get all the lines attached to it and the ps resevoir (and the braket for the resovoir). make sure you have the pump and the braket for the pump. I did it to my old hatch(2000 cx) and i didn't think it was hard at all. I went to a local junkyard and got the complete cross member off a 99-00 civic Si at the same time i got a front sway bar and the control arms. Make sure you get all the screws so you have extra screws ( yu never know). lmk if you have any questions.
