k20a.org specializes in this info. I would also get a feel from what Hybrid Racing sells, and then get an idea for what you need. Check out the classifieds on k20a to find cheaper mounts, used standalone ECU, information on axles, harnesses, etc.

The good- when you have all the parts, its actually a breeze of a swap. Seriously, minus the rewelding of the mount, and some of the glitchy wiring (well from what I remember of the Z1 swap to get the cluster gauges working) its really a super straight-forward swap.

The bad- be ready to break the bank because it aint cheap. I had a deal to get a hyrdolocked k24 longblock, but the swap parts alone were more than buying a GSR swap. And I still needed a transmission, ECU, etc. Yeah, pretty expensive but worth it in the long run. Nothing runs with a K!

Word, k20a.org is the SHIT for K stuff. I love it! With the Hasport mounts we didn't have to weld the passenger side mount. Bite the bullet and swap it!

Nothing? What exactly does a K run that others that came before it cant do?

Oh you mean the fragile 6spd tranny that burns synchros like water?

Listen OP .....you already have a B series in the car. At this point just opt for a G23 swap and burn Ks for ALOT less money

You could build a deck plate G25/26 for the cost of a stock K20a swap and WOFFLE stomp those kids

H22 head/H23 bottom end + 101mm crank + pro3++ cams, Kseries pistons, beefy rods....well over 300whp ALL MOTOR and 190-200+ ftlbs of torque NA

Using the B series tranny you already have as well as the cheap P28 ecu setup...you can either drop a base JDM H22 in (190-200whp) with a QSD adaptor (800-1200) or build a frank motor like I listed above for real power

Either way is cheaper, easier and more cost effective than a K swap

Now if you wanna ride the ooohs and aaaaaa's bus spend a grip on a K swap and get 210whp for 6-8K....

I love K's but given your situation the H swap makes much more sense from every angle short of building a race motor for the ALL MOTOR pro series in which case there may be a slight advantage to a HUGE K...

Dont take my word for it though...a good Honda guy should always consult his local mechanic for their opinion...I live in SoCal and when I had a dilema I always called my guy and brain stormed....if you dont have a reputable mech just call an honest race shop that has been there and done that....

Raceline Development in Temple City was the place I went for my B18C5 swap...Toda goodies and installation help. Elton Lo has done it all and thats the kind of guy I trust with bouncing ideas...in the end you are gonna do what you want but if more than a few reputable guys are saying the same thing.....you may wanna reconsider your perspective

As such look at the H2B swap guys and see what they are doing....NA low 11's in street trim for ALOT less money than a K...again...its your money

k20a.org is an awesome site if your looking for info. with anything related to the k20 motor.

i just bought a 98 hatch myself and i'm looking up parts and prices to do the swap. My daily driver is an rsx type s, which is a k20a2 and i love it, that's what makes me want it in my hatch. The website should answer all your questions for sure though. Good luck with your build if you go that route.
