Amen
Although everytime I tried to piece together a low budget SOHC turbo setup I end up in the 3K range lol.....I am a sucker for details and quality parts lol If you swap -- build a G23 VTEC and go H2B with an ITR tranny ![]() Shit on some K boys

Oh, I get it. Throw it away. Now that doesnt really help the OP.
OP, is the motor Carb'd, EFI? I guess a cam would help, but like you mentioned, a swap would really be best. If you have carbs you can replace the stock ones with webers or mikuni's. Show us a pic of that 1.4 Good luck dude.

Sell the car and buy a VTi cost you less in the long run.Alot of those EJ9s are baddy specced like once the engines in you still have to do the brakes suspension and your probably going to want to have things like recaros etc adds up very quickly and then the hassle of changing the logbooks etc.you would pick up a good EK4 for 2000 pounds

Dang thats a small motor. You aren't gonna get any noticeable power out of it at all. I'd return it to stock for maximum fuel efficiency and save up for something else.
