I'm a b- series motor guy, i dont know much about the K series , what is the difference between the two, and which one belongs to what car. My friend decided to pick up the new EP today so i want to be able to give him a heads up on what head to buy . thanks

in both photos, the intake side is on the bottom, the exhaust on the top.
notice on the A3 head that there are only two lobes on the intake camshaft. that's for the VTEC-E version the EP gets. the smaller lobe on the left is the under-2200 rpm lobe, in which only one intake valve is opened. the middle lobe operates the valves during the rest of the time. on the exhaust, there is no VTEC mechanism. on the A2 head, you'll notice three lobes per cylinder on each side. the outside two lobes are the low lift/duration lobes, the middle larger lobe is the high lift/duration. both the intake and exhaust valves have VTEC. i tihnk rocker arms, valve springs are diffirent...
