HELP, Skunk2 springs!

Hey guys, Im new to the site, I tried a search but was not sucessful. I have been driving my girlfriends civic for a few days and decided to order some parts for it, going the JDM route with it. I ordered up the following;
Skunk2 lowering springs
Skunk2 lower tie bar
Skunk2 Rear Camber Kit
JDM Si Grill
Password JDM foglight kit
Mugen Lip

My issue is, I was looking around and saw a 2 door with these springs o nit, and it didnt look liek much of a drop, then I went back and read 1.5-1.75 drop. So, I looked into their coilovers, and it says 3 inch. Now, the question is this, can the coilovers kit they sell be used with stock struts? I know it wont ride the same as it would with aftermarket units, but, I need to know if these will work, I read I have to trim a mount, but is that all?

Does anyone have a photo of possibly a 4 door with the Skunk2 coil overs installed as well as 1 with the springs, thanks so much guys!

Im sure it will work, but it will not suit the purpose and I bet your girlfriend will hate the ride.
Do it right the first time and you won't have any trouble down the road.

I would take this gentleman's advice. I had the exact same generation civic and I tried to go the same route as you are considering (coilovers with stock struts). I was very disappointed shortly after I installed them and ended up switching to regular coilovers afterwards. Look around for different shock to go with them or find a set of full coilovers to use.

Also, the only thing you have to trim is the bump stop, no mounts.

Take care and good luck!

you can used the skunk2 coilovers with stock struts but as mentioned it wont be a very comfortable ride. the stock struts are not meant to be on any lowered spring, especially 3", and the Skunk2 coilovers are pretty stiff. the stock strut is not capable of handling such a high spring rate.
