the trend is going back to bigger cars, like in the 70s. then 80's through 90's it was small cars. With fuel conserving engines and whatnot, they have the technology to make larger more luxurious cars, while maintaining better fuel mileage. Honda doesnt sell '' lightweight race cars''

Today's cars are bigger mostly because of safety standards. The old 2000 lb Honda's of earlier years wouldn't hold up so well against a soccer mom in her Excursion plowing into you. The power-weight ratios have steadily gone up though.. so it's not like all is lost.

True, driving compact, lightweight cars are a lot more fun than some of the boats out there today.. but something so small like a CRX would get pwned in a crash with most modern vehicles.
