USB Card Read question.. HELP!

Ok so here’s my dilemma. I have a card reader that has 2 slots. 1 slot is for a big memory card for my canon EOS Rebel here at work, and the other slot is for a standard digital camera. I’ve never used the standard digital camera slot until today. The card reader is 2 drives. 1 drive for each slot. The big card is (:K) and the small is (:G).. My problem is that I have so many network connections that the drive letter G is already used. Where can I go to assign the small card slot a new drive letter? I’m running XP Professional here at work and I’ve tried the card reader properties and there’s no place I can change the drive letter. Would it be easier to assign my network connection labeled “G” something else?

Hmmm usually when I plug in a USB drive it just assigns it the next letter available. I'm sure there is a way to change. maybe unplug and plug USB reader back in and see if it gives it a new drive?

I've been fucking with it all day. I actually think i may be out of available drive letters. i even tried disabling the "K" drive to make it available for the other slot and that didn't work.

Yea, just unplug it and plug it back in. It will move to the next available letter. At least it should.

Nah, you do. They make 20+ card readers.

Maybe your reader took a shit.

I think hes talking about the kind of reader thats "always on", as in its always assigned a letter even when theres nothing in it... In this case I think you have to go into Control Panel>>Admin tools>>computer managment>>storage and then I believe disk managment... Should be able to assign a new letter to it from there... No way you can be out of letters since they can go all the way to Z...

I didn't know I had the option to change which drive letter the card reader used. I ended up having a few drive letters available and it works now. Thanks again for all the help guys!
