Question If you owned your own speed shop what would you keep instock

Just wondering if you had the chance to open up a retail performance store, what parts would you keep on hand. lets just say if you had 50k to spend on inventory, just remember your not going to get customers coming in everyday buying turbo's and stroker kits, so lets think logic here. just think if you walked in a retail establishment with all aftermarket products, just like if you would into a autozone. but keep in mind you don't make money if the products are just sitting there. i would say rather than keep a shit load of rims in stock, don't you think you should stock rare jdm, euro, and american wheels in stock.

I disagree. If I had a performance shop, it would have performance related items. Wheels are more of a customization shop. If I should carry rims in my fictitious performance shop, they would all weigh in under 10lbs each.

However you just stated, "speed shop, performance store, autozone" all in the same context. I buy car maintenance items at Autozone, not performance parts or rims, nor do I expect them to carry those items.

problem with that is that they usually don't sell very quickly. stock what sells in your market.

"First of all you're going to have to grease the local politicians for the sudden zoning problems that always come up. Then there's the kickbacks to the carpenters, and if you plan on using any cement in this building I'm sure the teamsters would like to have a little chat with ya, and that'll cost ya. Oh and don't forget a little something for the building inspectors. Then there's long term costs such as waste disposal. I don't know if you're familiar with who runs that business but I assure you it's not the boyscouts."
