EVO VIII's r the closest thing America will see to the Skyline. ive been lucky enough to have rich friends who will let me drive thier shit my boy has a mid-12 EVO. its unbelievable. ivew never driven a sti b4 so im a little bias but i would def say the EVO

So hard to decide....Ummm STI I guess. I drove the 2005 STI, and it hauled ass. I'm sure I could hit high 12's stock with that car(300hp's now).
My best friend had an '03 Evo and it was sick too, but a lil' slower. Still a kick in the pants, though. I think the Evo needs a nicer looking front bumper, though, because the stock one is kinda ugly. C-West on that bitch for sure!

I still love my N/A Hondas!!!! Nothing beats the feel, fun, or styling of them.

I voted EVO

but I damn well would like both! I personaly would like to have the 2002 STi that was never here in america because I like the circle lights, as well as an EVO 7

But if we have to compare the EVO 8 and 2004 STi, I'd go EVO

I've never driven either of them, but I've only riden in an STi. It was DAMN quick, but since I don't really have any first hand opinions on the two cars I'll just go with what magazines say and go with the EVO.

In every article I read the EVO beats the STi to 60
EVO: 4.5 (best that I've seen)
STi: 4.6 (best that I've seen)

but the STi always beats it in the 1/4 mile
EVO: 13.2 (best I've seen) 13.3 (average that I've seen)
STi: 13.2 (best I've seen)

In aspects of handling I've read that the EVO is much better on pavment and STi does the dirt better, but overall EVO wins. But I honestly think that performance wise they handel more or less differently than better or worse. I also think that in any type or race with these two cars, it's all the driver. The two cars are so close in performance that it IS all driver.

Also, Subaru tried to beat mitsu by putting in that extra 29hp....I personally don't think it was that big of a deal because mitsu did just as well and better in most aspects of testing.

both companies will bring out better and faster and then the next will have soemthing better within a year. It'll just keep going. Right now mitsu's ahead with the EVO FQ-400, but give it time, the STi, IO've seen already has a version doing a stock 1/4 mile in under 13 second, but also cost over $50k

In the looks catagory. It's close.

Mitsubishi really fucked upwith those altezza lights, ugh. First thing I'd do is swap those out for EVO 7 tails. I like the front end and it looks pissed. I love when cars just look pissed and mean. Only thing about the front end they could change is that Mitsubishi badge right smack in the middle. Front mounts also looking good. I'd defiantly get it in black, rip that wing off and swap the tails. EVO RS's look so rad with no wing, just need to be lowered, my goodness

The Sti. Like I said I'd take a '02 STi over the new 2004. But looks wise, not much I'd change. The new tails are awesome, headlights are decent, but again, off with the wing. I dunno, I'm just not a wing type of guy. Low pro spoilers are nice, maybe the WRX wing would look nice, but I kind of like the new STi's sripped of the wing. I'd get black with gold wheels

All in all. I think the two cars are so close in almost every aspect that it's basically just a biased choice between whether you hate Mitsubishi, and like Subarus, or vise versa.

I went with the STi even though it lacks the one thing I "must" have in a car, a sunroof. Over all I prefer the looks of the WRX STi over the Evolution. I think the Evolutin VII was the best looking one, and I don't really like the looks of the VIII. They perform on about the same level, so it came down to the looks for me.

Yeah... seeing as that this member bumped the thread- I guess it gives me at least a chance to say something rather than nothing at all.

I typed up "JDM" in google and luckily found this place. Hehe, anyways-

The Evo and Sti.

The Evo being lighter than the STi would ultimately make it faster, but, because of the fact that the STi has more horsepower and torque, it compensates for being heavier. Then, the supposedly most important fact about these two cars; They say that when the Evo shifts, it gains more power, where as the STi... it loses power. Giving the Evo a chance to gain the upper hand in a race. Heh... Sorry for assisting in reviving an old thread...

i say EVO they have always been a favorite of mine since gran turismo games.thats my my dream car...Evo IX is better which is available along with the VIII,(in the US) but the evo VI is the best model...besides even though the STI is faster,has more displacement,and is good off-road...the evo has had a good history in the WRC..and the car is just as fast as the STI..most of all would that be like comparing a skyline and 3000gt...
