Mitsubishi EVO VS Subaru STi

Tell me which car you think is better-the EVO or the STi. They both have great qualities and are tremendous for the price. They both can accerlate 0-60 in near 5 sec STOCK. FOR $30,000! I think the Subaru may be better off road but I think the EVO is a little faster on pavement.
I personally like the EVO better. The wing and all. The Subaru is most likely a better everyday driver because of not as much boost(STi-16 VS EVO 19). The interior is much the same-Recaros. The look of the EVO and the STi are about the same-they look like sport sedans. One thing I am worried about with the EVO is the lasting of the car. Some older Eclipses and 3000GTs are breaking. Could this happen to the EVO? It probably will. I bet the Subaru will last longer also because of less boost on the engine.
Whatever your pefrence-they are both awsome cars.

maybe its just because they have been here longer but the mitsu performance cars just dont seem to last very long. Dont really know of any bad experiences w/ a wrx, or any other impreza yet.

I still really like the EVO. When my dad was thinking about buying one he and I went out to test drive one. It was wicked. I was almost thrown out of my seat! We did not get to test an STi because there is a frickin looooong waiting list. It is at least for 12 months. So I guess that says that people may like the STi better. Oh yea, and I was wrong about the EVO being faster. The STi is about 4 tenths of a second faster in the 1/4. If anyone ever gets to testdrive one or own one let me know how it runs. I bet its wicked.

I think you have that flipped.

SCC ran a 13.2 in the STI
along with Car and Driver they ran a 13.3.

I drove both...the EVO is def fun, great handling, snotty up top. great car.

The STI is just down right NASTY! down low the extra disp helps with torque. The DCCD is an awesome feature (its been on all STI's since day one) where the US spec EVO could use it.

Cant say which is better cuz I feel that both are equally great machines!

They are both pretty nice but the Evo has won practically every test done by mags and shows. Ive done pretty much everything you can do in an Evo. Its a lot of fun. Sat in the Sti but didnt get to go for a ride. The seats are nowhere near as nice as the suede Recaros in the Evo and the pink and red gauges look pretty crappy at night. Its a matter of preference but like I said most mags and shows rate the Evo as the winner.

Been there done that

If I could own both I would but I don't have the funds for that- I bought the STI since I know it's a more reliable car - I picked up my car in June and before I got it I heard of the Evo's have Clutch problems and fit and finish problems like I have heard with all of there line ups. To be honest though the Evo does handle better but that can be changed in the STI easily- The EVo feels faster only because of the Turbo Lag- If the STi had lag like that you would think it's much faster than the EVO- Not to hate on the Evo it's a much simpler car than the STI which is not a bad thing- But if you want a better car for about a 1500 dollars more get the STI - Better Transmission, MOre Displacement, better quality ( fit and finish) and much better customer service

any questions PM or e mail me
