New to the scene

Hey everyone. Well to start i am new to the car scene in general so if you guys could give me some advice first of all about cars and how the engine works and things like that. Sencondly i amlooking to get a honda i just don't know what to get. I will be on a 5K budget just for the car then ill save up for parts as i go along but i was wondering being that i would rather have a clean looking car (not to ricey) what type of honda should i look into. To give you some ideas i would like to build something simple with good audio and overall interior with an good engine that has headers, intake, and exaust.

All in all please help me to find the right car for me.
1. Easily upgrageable.
2.Want to make it look good while adding some perforemance parts such as headers, intake and exaust.

Thanks in advanced and sorry if this is long.

Welcome to the U! Is there any particular kind of body you're looking for, such as a hatch or a coupe? I always liked the EG6; would have gotten one of those if I went Honda.

easy upgradeable from honda i would suggest a civic of any model. with 5 grand i would say eg 92-95 or ek 96-00 . depends on which u like. also the ef 88-91 model. all civic r easily tuned. as for which u want kev1NZ-FE has the million dollar question for u. do u want a coupe, hatch, or sedan. they all can be tuned so it's up to u.

With any car, try to find one rust free. That is one of the main concerns in my area. If the car has a ton of miles but has a good body, you can always swap the motor. With 5k you can get an EF (CRX's are my fav) for maybe 2gs or less depending on what you find. Then you can save up a little for a swap. The possiblities are endless. Find a platform that suites you best. Have a family? go for a sedan. Is it just a car for you? then a CRX or Del Sol would work too...just do it right the first time. saves time and money
