Read up on your turbo stuff. Basically a turbo has an intake side where your air filter feeds into. It has an output side where the air that goes through the turbo goes to the intercooler and then into the throttle body/motor. The turbo bolts to the exhaust manifold and the hot gas enters it from the side spinning the blades of the turbo, which accelerate the induction process on the "in" side and accelerate the exiting air charge on the "out" side. The wastegate on the turbo makes sure the turbo doesn't flow more than the engine can handle and the intercooler comes afterward to cool the intake charge before it enters the motor. The BOV comes after the intercooler but before the motor to keep compressed air from moving backwards in the system between shifts or when the throttle plate closes.
