You cant compare it to piston engines because they operate completely different

2 rotors = 6 firing sides/pistons

Honda made 1.5L V6's that made 1200+hp in the 80's

Rotaries are great for going POP!

They are okay but given that only Mazda can push the design forward it has been lagging for a long time.

i love my rotary ... FTW ... they run immaculate if you take care of them and really only 3 moving parts internally..... but to each thier own ....

I think they're awesome... there are so many possibilities and the advantages that you can get definitely out-weight the cons.

I've drove both Rx7 and Rx8, and the rotary engine makes them very fun to drive! Love the sound

Love the way they drive and sound (when running), you just have to have a lot of vested interest in them to keep one going. Can be very reliable.
