he dont need VTEC to make a fast car. VTEC was only designed for the DD car to have some real power when you need it. its not like it was a S/C or Turbo boost on the engine. id say at most it would add about 20% to your normal power wwhne picking up the kids or getting groceries.so if you have say a D15B with 130hp when VTEC kicks in then when your drivingaround normal you may only use 100hp or less then when you get over a certain rpm you open the valves a little farther and get your max 130. ina way if he does S/C then hed not have to worry about a VTEC tune for the higher rpms on the S/C. butIMO i like the VTEC kicking in,lol.

Read my previous post...re-read it ....keep rereading until you find something I missed abotu non-vtec power or it being for street driving which 99.9% of our cars here do while also being taken to the track...for those of us who race anyway

Even the fastest non-vtec Hondas used vtec heads with basically VTEC ALWAYS on...research a little...youll see
