Cool motor swap ?

can u get a swap motor smogged? i have to smog next year and ive been hearing that swap motors dont pass. Any info?

Yes... especially if u live in a state like Illinois where they simply check for fault codes on OBD2.

To answer your question: YES you can smog test a motor swap

HOWEVER

Cali has two parts -- the visual inspection and the actual sniffer test

You can pass the sniffer but still fail --- if the motor doesnt have all the working smog equipment, has non carb legal mods, or is JDM and not a replacement motor --- you will most likely fail

I am personally working on a solution but until I finish youll most likely be SOL if you get pulled over or told to see the state smog ref

yes you can & here in Cali,
motorswap has to be newer or same year as your car. no check engine lights. no modified intake, headers, wire harness, ecu, & moor must be legit with all vin #'s
