ka-t since you already have the motor, why not just explore that to start with, but i would suggest rods and pistons... went through 2 motors due to the weak truck rods ha. my car still needs tuned a bit but dominating the 13 second index class and PR'd 12.50's but unfortunately tonight, the car decided to just run on wastegate.. boost gauge/solenoid is not wanting to function correctly.. but my first choice would be the ka due to already having that platform.. if not happy with it you can always sell your set up and pick up a red top

Hey have you heard of Fairlady/UP Garage. Well they are located here in University Place/Tacoma. Check them out for your Nissan needs.

Wow, whole lot of information, thanks guys I'll read over it all and check out the sites you all linked too.

Turtlespeed: Yeah I've heard of UP garage, I was either going Garage Autohero, BN Sport, or EOP, maybe Position 1, or just go out of my garage, thanks for the link though!

Yeah, I have contemplated KA-T a lot, being that the KA motors are dime-a-dozen, but I'm not sure if I want to dump money into a turbos, and headers and pistons and clutches into something that I'm going to just get rid of haha so we'll see, just doing all my research first

Will you quit calling it a truck motor please?

The KA-E and even the KA-DE were first put into the USDM 240sx. Nothing truck about them. They were derived from the L and Z series engines, which powered Datsun Zs and sedans and such.

All you fucking kids put down the fucking Super Street and stop calling them what those fag mags are calling the KAs or SRs.

Fuck.

I can't stand reading this shit. I'm just gonna fucking stop reading this board altogether to avoid getting high blood pressure by the time I'm 30.

Damn GreenKouki you are obsessed with that LS1...lol you'd pretty much cream if you saw/heard my buddies sil80, oh lookie I have a video of it =]

http://youtube.com/watch?v=gvNTyu4q6aA
That was a fun day haha (yes there are 5 people drifting at one time)

and then to hear his engine better:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=GRe-VbhcPK0

Sounds better in real life, anyway...

for the s14 black top is there any type of connector to just converted the s13 wiring harness to the s14? or do you HAVE to wire it?

If you're not comfortable with wiring the harness, pay someone reputable to do it.

The "conversion harness" that you're talking about, is the one that you can get from reputable shops like Touge Factory and Phase2 Motortrend and stuff.

-s15 has a ball bearing t28 turbo. i wouldnt waste your money on an s15 motor.

if you plan to upgrade cams, theres no need for VTC. so thats why id choose the S13 blacktop.

CA18 sucks for lack of parts and you lose 600cc. fuck that.

i like high revving motors, thus no KA with its bad bore to stroke ratio. SR is a square ratio (86.0mm x 86.0mm) much easier and reliable revving.

s14 have t28's, and they are not ball bearing.

ca's have just as much support, if not more then sr's, replacement/maintaince parts are much easier, performance parts arent that hard to find.

you are only knock the ca for loosing 600 cc's, but thats only 200 less the then sr which you say you like for its high rev's over the ka. the ca will out rev both of them.

im rambling. but you get what im saying.
