did you know (read this somewhere. forgot where.) that the honda nsx is built with less actual automated assembly than a ferrari? translation: + hand-built labor, thus + attention to detail. that's why the nsx is categorized as an "exotic" = 90k+ pricetag.

The $90K+ price tag had less to do with the NSX being categorized as an "exotic" and more to do with US dealerships marking them up by $30-40K. I know this post is old, but if I recall correctly, the base MSRP of a new NSX was something like $50-60K or so. At least, in Japan it was. The most expensive NSX sold in Japan was $85,000 and it was the JDM-only NSX Type-S Zero (even more expensive and faster than an NSX-R, though the suspension on the TSZ was a bit softer and it weighed 40lbs more than the R).

I'm thinking about adding one to the garage. My buddy's friend is selling his with a blown engine for $1000. He calls it the "bane of his existence" because he's been trying to sell it for years and every time somebody says they're going to buy it, the deal falls through. It's black and it's got like 2 years worth of bird sh*t on it. haha...

[looking out the window] sorry, pigs must have now evolved wings and started flying. honestly, i don't know what you're doing "thinking" about adding it to your garage for that price. you tell your friend, if he's really selling his NSX, cleverly called the "bane of his existence" for $1000, i'll buy it RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE. and i'm sure i won't be the only one interested on JDMU.
