JDM Honda Inspire

I'm thinking about purchasing a Third Generation Acura 3.2 TL Type S.

I know in Japan the Car is called an Inspire but I can't seem to find any info or pics of an Inspire.

I've seen a couple pics and I like the front Honda Grill and rear Inspire Emblem.

Can somone please point me in the direction of some pics or stats on a Honda Inspire?

I would like to build up my TL Type S when I get one to resemble a JDM Inspire.

Thanks
-Ant

I believe the inspire was basically the exact same as the TL-s however some body styling parts were different. My dad has a 2003 TL-S A-spec whic apparently has the JDM lip kit, and spoiler with the lights like in these pictures... his car also came with black housing headlights.

I just found a picture of it when I was searching for pictures of Si's in Google. I love Si's and thought that would look cool.

Will that be a problem? If so sorry man

Awesome bro

Yea I want to get one as a daily driver and add on some nice Inspire parts to make the car look a little bit better.

Not gonna touch the Motor or anything, just exterior, interior, and suspension/wheels.

Awesome man

This is what I want it to look like

First off if I don't get a Type S and just get the standard model where can I pick up the Factory Front/Rear Lips, and also are those Factory Side Skirts that come on all the Models?

Also the Front Grill, Honda Emblems, and the Inspire Emblem on the Trunk Lid?

One last thing I'm looking for like a 99 or a 00 TL. From what I can figure out I can either get the base Model, the TL Type S, and also is there such a thing as the TL A Spec?

If you can point me towards the direction of any more info that would be awesome

What kind of wheels do you plan on getting?

Is the car AT or MT Transmission.

the '99-'01 TL are basically the same. the '99 comes with a 4-speed auto and the '00-'01 have a 5-speed auto.

the '99 has a hard-disk navi as the ONLY option. the '00-'03 have dvd based navigation as the ONLY option.

the Type-S was introduced for the '02-'03 model year. 260Hp at the crank which translates to about 190-200 at the wheel. all other TL's ('99-'03) are 225hp at the crank (not sure about whp).

the A-Spec came for '03 only (as far as the 2nd generation TL is concerned). it was only available in Canada. most notable difference between the regular '03 TL and that one... comes with body kit from the factory, spoiler/wing is the same as the JDM Inspire wing with the two parking lights at the top, color-matched headlights, grille, door handles, and some color-coded stuff in the interior. otherwise, they are the same thing.

also, be warned, the transmission on these car's are pretty weak. honda actually extended the powertrain warranty to 7yrs/100k miles. it can happen to ANYONE... regardless of how you drive or what you've done to the car.

otherwise, the car is a dream.

www.acura-tl.com is a pretty good comunity. personally, there's too many people there with the same questions over and over and they seem a little too immature. i'm just glad i've learned what i need to know about this car already. you can run into something good over there every once in a while though.

there's a good chance im getting some wheel's soon. i'll be sure to post once i get them on.

the 2nd generation TL only comes in auto.

sup man juss saw this thread...wow for the first time i see someone else taking a interest in inspires other den me and car_lost, sup carlos...

if you want to build a Type S exterior mods will be limited to jdm badging and factory kit...i had a 99-01 model so my model had a different front end, which allowed me to rock the value sport body kit (value sport aftermarket body kit company in japan that helps design cars like the Lagreat and others) if you want more info. on what parts are available PM me, i get most of my parts through my own company...i think i still got pix of my car, anyone else got pix of my car...in china dun have my laptop with me...oh yeah by the way the tranny thing is true..i went through 4 trannies on two TL's

basic mods i had
AEM Intake, Cusco strut tower bar, tein ss dampers, 19 inch lowenhart BR5's, value sport body kit and headlight covers, mugen grill, mugen rear trunk spoiler, all of the jdm inspire badging, door sill, wood shift knob...if you want to build a type s i can help also, me and car_lost been looking at building his silver Type S to become very competitive, that spoiler on the back is a value sport also...also type s comptech makes a supercharger for...also dere's the water to air intercooler kit, and all that stuff...
