thats not how the anti-lag system works... the turbo doesnt stay spooled at idle... during acceleraction fuel is dumped into the turbo which creates a small combustion and keeps the turbine spinning long enought between shifts to keep full boost...

It's just what happens when you have a catless exhaust and BOV on a WRX or STi. The "staged" maps run rich as hell so afterfire is very very common on any catless setup on the WRX's and STi's. The BOV is just added insurance that they'll be shooting flames. I pulled the hose on my BPV one time and let it vent to the atmosphere and as soon as you rev it you get a lot of crackling and popping from the afterfire. |
