Need to Replace Subaru Starter
Looking for tutorial to replace the entire starter (not just solenoid) on my 1993 Legacy 2.2 4WD with automatic transmission. I'm not sure if it's worth the effort, or just to pay a garage to do it. Thank you.

This thread is probably deader than dead, but here's how you do it:
1. Disconnect your battery. 2. With a 12mm wrench, remove the nut and lock washer going from your battery to the B+ terminal, at the upper rear of your starter. 3. Remove the black wire (female spade at the end) going to your S terminal, at the lower rear of your starter. 4. With a 14mm wrench, remove the top and bottom bolts holding your starter on. It's as simple as that. |
