Shock Opinion?

Alright so I have a DA slammed on it's balls with Eibach slip on Coilovers and shot Tokiko Blues. I'm reading in a few places that Tokico white's are where it's at, but Koni's are better in some aspects... I went to the Koni website and saw Koni Yellows for about the same price at Tokico White's.

Koni's on eBay

Tokico's on eBay

My question is simple, I want a comfortable ride for the most part and virtually no body roll... I'm looking for some experiences with both shocks, and some advice on what's better for my set-up. Thanks in advance.

You're not going to be able to run either of those sets of shocks without having them shortened and possibly revalved for your springs/ride height.

Koni yellows don't like slammed ride heights in "off the shelf" form. Once you get them shortened though, they're the jam.

I wouldn't even know where to get them shortened... and how much? Would riding them off the shelf really mess them up or will it just reduce the life by a couple thousand miles? I mean I'm not on the floor, but I'm tucking about a 1/4 inch..

Hard to say how much life you'll be shortening the shock by running it at your ride height, but it definitely won't last long.

As for how much to get them shortened... find a Koni service center near you and call them up and ask them. Also, try to do some research on that shop before you commit to sending your shocks in for them to shorten it or whatever, as you don't want to deal with a shop with bad reputation for shoddy work and/or long turn around time.

isnt that why ppl run top hats on their koni yellows to extend the shock travel. Hey B17hatchback called the Koni dealer near you to get the best advice. they're most likely going to tell that Koni yellows don't need to be re-valve the shocks unless your doing a lot track racing and using 500-higher spring rate springs. heres a link to find one near you or just to call a local rebuild center for their advice.
