new to site....

hey guys, I'm new to this site and I'm just saying what's up...

I need help on getting the right wheel offset for my ride. I want to purchase 18x7.5 (5x100 Bronze) Volk racing TE-37 and I'm not sure what is the correct offset for '00-up celicas. I'm also saving up for a 3S-GTE swap and if anyone here that has done a complete 3S-GTE swap on second gen MR2's, I NEED YOUR HELP shopping for parts.

Here's a pic of my celi and what I want to do with it. Thanks in advance for the replies....

I tell everyone to head over to www.mr2oc.com. They have practically every answer to any question you might have.

I myself might put a 3SGTE head on my 5SFE but that wont be for a while.

im currently in the market for a 95 MR2 turbo (t-top, black outsidem, black interior). This is going to be my daily driver when i start doing stuff to the celica.

I was asking help from guys that have done a 3S-GTE swap because I am definitely planning on doing a swap on the celica.

dude... I hate to tell you but the 3SGTE swap is going to run you about 8-10k. I would just recommend just building the engine and going custom kit, probably run you half the price...

Also for a 7.5" wheel, I would recommend a 30-35mm offset.

8-10 grand? Im doing the swap for about 4 grand including install. $2800 for the whole rear clip and $1200 for the install. Ive gotten this same quote from 2 different reputable shops. Now that doesn't include the new clutch but I needed a new one anyway, and thats certainly not another 4-6 grand worth.

A good clip will run you around 3.5k shipped, and installation by a competent shop should run another 1.5k on top of that. If you pay over 5k to do a complete clipswap the right way, you're being had. The only reason it would cost more than 5k is if you want to use some of your own components to freshen up the engine. Figure 200 to freshen up belts and seals, and about 800 for a good clutch/flywheel combo.

Now if youre thinking about correct turbo selection, proper fuel system construction, exhaust and intake modifications and good tuning and octane - something such as a T67, some 264 degree cams, 850cc injectors, Walbro pump, a Hydra Nemesis EMS, and a decent 3" downpipe and any decent exhaust like an N1....oh and a dual feed fuel rail modification. T67 kit is around 2800. Fuel mods will run you around 600ish. A good intercooler will run around 800 new. Exhaust/downpipe, about 700. Cams about 700, and the ems about 1500 so basically 13k to swap to a turbo and push that much power, the right way. That doesn't include a built block or anything of the sort, or if you manage to get deals on the parts for cheap.

Just depends on how extreme you want to go and how much power you want to put out.

Here are my wheels: 18x7.5 Bronze TE-37's +30mm offset | Bridgestone Potenza S-03 225/40/ZR18. I bought 'em used from a guy in www.newcelica.org . They wont be on the car till i get my TEIN SS and some other stiff stuff.

Well i was thinking about doing a swap on the celica, but i talked to the guy in FL that has the swap already, and his car is pretty much a dyno queen. Its always in the shop for something and I don't think he can drive it regularly.

As fas as for the MR2, I'm not doing a swap. I'm looking on getting a 1993-1995 Turbo T-Top MR2, Silver or white (I've always loved MR2, just haven't found one I really like) and still keep the celica. I'm done with my A.S. Degree in Information Technology and I'm planning on going back to school for B.S. so I don't think I could spend all that money on the swap.
