I totally agree with everything EGhatchattack said. One other thing i'll add is that with the 1JZ, the wiring is a bitch and it's HELL to get the gauges to work. If you have any kind of mechanical skill, i'd use it on this project, because although parts are big dough, labor is worse.

The other option for motor swaps in the SC/Supra chassis, is what i'm thinking of going for, the 3S-ge/3S-gte Altezza/Celica motor. This swap is used in the JGTC supras and was first done by Top Secret JP into a street car. The motor is capible of 450-500hp, and i'm only looking for 400 out of my SC. The motor/tranny cost about the same as the 2JZ-GTE, but it's half the weight (my reason behind this), and sits so far back into the engine bay, that the car will be considered MR. The fact that i'll do this swap myself is the only reason that it'll be done, labor on this will be well over 20k, so i'll do it myself.
