Question MR2 turbo or Lexus SC300

I actually had a question, I have a '91 MR2 turbo that I was planning on doing a ct27 or 20b on to get rid of the wall that I hit inregards to boost with the ct26 and just building up my car...I mean no many people see these cars out here in the desert and Im always turning heads becuz not many people have seen them before or even heard of them..Thats something that I have enjoyed and respected about the MR2..

Anyways what my question was is that I have seen the lexus that I am seeing on some of every ones avatars and I know that with the sc300 you can do the 1JZGTE or even 2JZGTE motor swap..What I want to know is would it be worth to get one to do that swap becuz I saw a guy with a vip sc300 with I believe was a 1jzgte swap and that it sounds and looked clean..

Just want to know would it be worth to sell my car or trade for a sc300 (manuel of course)? Really looking for serious opinions on this because I have changed my mind so many times about getting rid of my MR2..

the SC doesnt really appeal to me over an MR2. i like small cars, and have no need for a back seat.

test drive a SC and see if you like it.

This is a tough one...

On one hand you have the MR2, which like you said is rare in your neck of the woods. Again, even more rare is the MR setup. The fact that you have a turbo one is even better!

On the other, you have the SC300. Personally, I love the SC300 and plan to get one asap. It's got luxury, potential to be fast as hell (even though the MR2 has that as well), but it also has a back seat. Something to please everyone.
IMO the SC300 for me. As long as you do it right, but either way you go, you have potential for having some sick rides.

If you like your MR2, then keep it by all means!

The one thingthat keeps getting me to lean towards the Lexus is that it does have a back seat and the way I look at it is that if I have to move again down the road its gona be hard to move things with a 2 seat car as appossed to having the back seat plus bigger trunk..

But your right they both have the potential of being hella fast cars I just keep thinking of having that luxury feeling but then also possibility of building up a supra motor and having that well known power at my finger tips ya know..

I say get the SC. I did my 1jz swap for ~3 grand. Find an SC with rod knock or something for 2k and swap a 1jz and call it a day.

If it helps, I just sold my SC to a guy that got tired of his turbo MR2. He said he didnt like how it felt at high speeds, and he wanted to go back to FR (he used to be a huge 240 dude before he got it).

I would do as mentioned above, and test drive the SC. I loved mine, and only sold it because it would have become a money pit with the plans I had brewing...

Swap 2jzgte ftmfw! 6 g's can get u into a sc3 swapped out the door (including cost of car). Capable of 1000rwhp, and one of the most dependable motors in history, you can get a 2j or 1j from jdm Aristo or soarer cheap. Regardless if you want to quarter whore it or slide it, it wins in either case!
